National Jamboree

The Adventure of a Lifetime

The National Jamboree is Scouting’s flagship event — a once-in-a-lifetime gathering of Scouts, Venturers, and leaders that celebrates the spirit of Scouting with friends, fellowship, and unforgettable adventure. It’s not just another camp — it’s ten days of 360° fun, challenges, leadership opportunities, and experiences you’ll remember forever.

When & Where
The next National Jamboree will be held July 22–31, 2026 at Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia — one of the world’s premier outdoor adventure facilities. Scouts from across the nation come together to explore a massive campus full of activities designed to inspire courage, confidence, and character.

What Makes Jamboree Unique

At Jamboree, Scouts have the chance to:

  • Connect with thousands of fellow Scouts from across the country
  • Take part in high-adventure activities like climbing, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, zip-lining, and more
  • Engage in leadership development and hands-on skill building
  • Enjoy large-scale shows, exhibits, and Scouts’ fellowship designed to push you farther than you thought possible

Planning & Participation
The East Carolina Council is beginning planning for the 2026 National Jamboree contingent — including youth, contingent leaders, committee members, and those interested in serving on the Jamboree Service Team. If you’re interested in attending or helping plan our council’s participation, the council encourages you to express your interest as planning continues.

The National Jamboree truly is an opportunity to grow, make lifelong memories, and experience the best of Scouting on a national stage.

Northern Tier National High Adventure

Explore the Wild North

Northern Tier is one of Scouting’s premier high-adventure experiences — where Scouts and Venturers embark on authentic wilderness expeditions through pristine lakes, rivers, and forests in the northern United States and Canada. Whether paddling remote waterways, camping under starry skies, or learning advanced outdoor skills, Northern Tier challenges participants physically, mentally, and socially while building confidence, resilience, and lifelong friendships.

At Northern Tier, crews experience:

  • Multi-day canoe journeys through expansive and scenic water routes
  • Wilderness camping and backcountry navigation
  • Teamwork and leadership development
  • Environmental stewardship in unspoiled natural settings

These treks are designed for older Scouts and Venturers who are ready for a true adventure — one that pushes boundaries and rewards effort with unforgettable moments in the wild.

Florida Sea Base

Ocean Adventure at Its Finest

Florida Sea Base is Scouting America’s premier ocean-based high-adventure program, located in the tropical waters of the Florida Keys. Designed for older Scouts, Venturers, and Sea Scouts, Sea Base delivers once-in-a-lifetime experiences centered on sailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, marine science, and island exploration — all while building leadership, teamwork, and confidence on the open water.

Participants join multi-day aquatic expeditions that combine adventure with environmental stewardship and hands-on learning in one of the most unique ecosystems in the world. With programs operating across the Florida Keys, Bahamas, and U.S. Virgin Islands, Sea Base offers a wide range of ocean adventures for crews seeking challenge and discovery beyond traditional camp.

Many East Carolina Council contingents enhance their trip with coordinated travel and pre-adventure experiences through trusted Scout travel partner Blue Sky Adventures, which provides Sea Base transportation, lodging, and South Florida excursion options before arrival in the Keys.
