Venturing

Venturing (Ages 13–21)

Venturing is Scouting America’s co-ed leadership and adventure program for youth ages 14–20 (or 13 and completed eighth grade). It helps teens develop leadership, confidence, and life skills through youth-led activities aligned with their interests and goals.

Venturers participate in a crew, where youth officers plan meetings, activities, and service projects with guidance from trained adult Advisors. Programs are flexible and may focus on outdoor adventure, arts and hobbies, sports, faith, STEM, or community service.

What Venturers Do

Venturing crews design their own experiences, which may include:

  • High-adventure outdoor activities
  • Leadership and team development
  • Community service projects
  • Career exploration and skill building
  • Travel and specialty events

Venturing emphasizes personal growth, ethical decision-making, and leadership through real-world experiences guided by the Venturing Oath and Code.
